Offshore Fire Suppression Systems
Discover the advantages of our automatic fire suppression systems
fire suppression systems for the offshore industry
Protect your offshore operations against fire with our innovative aerosol fire suppression systems and automatic fire extinguishers. Fire is one of the main causes of material and immaterial damage in the offshore sector. The risk of fire can be significantly reduced by equipping ships, containers, electrical components, lithium battery storage, storage rooms and other critical components of your offshore operations with our certified aerosol extinguishing systems. Our aerosol generators extinguish a fire due to overheating, a technical defect or an accident quickly and effectively. Aerosol is environmentally friendly and has a long life.
Our aerosol generators are already used by a large number of offshore companies in the UK and abroad. The RSL Fire extinguishing systems can be used to protect the engines, generators, electrical cabinets, storage spaces as well as vessels. Our automatic fire suppression systems provide reliable protection against class A, B, C and F fires. Retrofitting is possible without any problems. Our extremely compact extinguishing systems can also be accommodated in very narrow spaces including engine rooms and electrical cabinets. Our fire suppression systems work completely autonomously, from fire detection to extinguishing. Our aerosol extinguishing agent also prevents re-ignition and minimizes fire damage. The RSL Fire aerosol fire suppression systems are the first aerosol systems certified by Europe’s number one for fire protection: VdS
Advantages of our Aerosol Fire Suppression Systems
How does aerosol work as extinguishing agent?
The fire is recognized by means of a fire detector, electrical ignition or fully autonomous analog ignition. Our Aerosol generator generates the aerosol and an endothermic reaction converts potassium hydrogen carbonate into potassium carbonate, chemically removing oxidizing substances from the combustion process and extinguishing the fire. At the same time, additional heat is extracted from the combustion process. This way the fire is extinguished in two ways and the chance of re-ignition is considerably reduced. During the extinguishing process, no oxygen is extracted and the residual potassium carbonate product is environmentally friendly and easy to clean up.
