RockEX by RSL Fire

RockEX is a fully automatic fire suppression system specially developed by RSL Fire to fight fires in the engine compartments of cars and other vehicles. The system works completely independently, maintenance-free and without an external power supply. The life of the system is 10 years. The integrated analog trigger cable enables fast and reliable fire detection throughout the engine compartment. RockEX fire extinguishers are very easy to install and can be installed quickly in any workshop. The activation cable is secured along existing cables with cable ties. In case of fire, the damage is limited.

RockEX contains a solid compound that become an aerosol in the event of a fire through a chemical reaction. These aerosols remain in the engine compartment and prevent re-ignition. More information about our automatic extinguishing systems.

Our automatic fire suppression systems for cars and vehicles

For consumers, we offer three different versions of our RockEx automatic fire extinguishers for cars and classic cars. The standard RockEx 200CR contains 200 grams of extinguishing agent and is suitable for most engine compartments of cars. However, if your engine compartment is very small or divided into compartments, we also offer two smaller units with 50 and 100 grams of extinguishing agent. It is also possible to opt for axial outflow instead of radial outflow. If the appearance of the fire extinguisher plays a role, we also offer a stainless steel variant for a small additional charge. It is even possible to provide the fire extinguisher with a carbon cover. We are happy to inform you about the possibilities based on your type of car.

Our automatic extinguishing systems work completely autonomously and use an analog detection cable that can easily be attached in the engine compartment along existing cables. Unlike other automatic fire extinguishers, our aerosol generators are 100% reliable and do not cause collateral damage. After activation, our units extinguish the fire in a few seconds and what is left is just a little dust that is easy to rinse away.

How does aerosol work as extinguishing agent?

The fire is recognized by means of a fire detector, electrical ignition or fully autonomous analog ignition. Our Aerosol generator generates the aerosol and an endothermic reaction converts potassium hydrogen carbonate into potassium carbonate, chemically removing oxidizing substances from the combustion process and extinguishing the fire. At the same time, additional heat is extracted from the combustion process. This way the fire is extinguished in two ways and the chance of re-ignition is considerably reduced. During the extinguishing process, no oxygen is extracted and the residual potassium carbonate product is environmentally friendly and easy to clean up.
